It's tail twisted over Parkview, a hotel currently in the grip of a terrifying fire, light blazing across the face of Captain Scott Fitzgerald, captain of engine company 23...

Just before it winked, it's celestial path almost complete, as it fell to earth narrowly missing the Warm Hearth Animal Center where Leonard Starkley and Kate Vass were arguing over the fate of a golden retriever puppy...

It's journey completed, the meteor lands in a pot of moist earth belonging to Eleanor Sharp, 33. Eleanor remains blissfully unaware of her destiny sinking gradually into Wal-Mart brand potting soil. She doesn't hear a damn thing until Ian came to wake her up. Perk of being deaf.

Scott Fitzgerald is a firefighter. He's a good one too, he comes from a long line of firefighters and firemen. He's spent his whole life training to battle blazes and save lives. Then one day he starts them. It's not some kind of strange compulsion. He literally starts fires. With his mind. Like that kid in that movie.

He is one of six, one of six harbringers chosen to destroy the light. And a meteor shall fall from the sky and you shall know my warriors by the strange signs that they shall perform.. He never asked for this. He did not ask for the ability to burn people alive if he became enraged or angry. He just wanted to live his life, get on with his ex-wife, be a good father, a good friend. It's terrible when things don't go the way you want.

Because he is one.

One of six who's destiny, if the signs can be believed, is to bring about the end of the world.
